Through a collaborative effort, there has been a scholarship created in honor of the career of Dr. Andrew Yozviak, the Director of Bands at WCU since 2006. The Director of Bands Scholarship will be awarded to a marching band member who consistently exhibits the following characteristics: Love for the activity of marching band, exemplary attendance, commitment to excellence through performance, being a model example for their peers, and going above and beyond the requirements of the class to enhance the experience for all members. It will be available to 2nd-year (Sophomore) marching band members and higher.
The scholarship has been awarded during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years, and it needs to be continually funded for awarding to our talented band members. As a loyal WCU Bands Alumni, we are asking you to consider a gift of $50, or any amount that feels right to you, to ensure that the Director of Bands Scholarship can be granted to deserving band members for years to come.
